Nothing to Lose Fitness is owned by Demetrius and Chanda Johnson. We are passionate about health and wellness. We understand that working out is a choice . It is a choice that gives you a better quality of life. We want to provide you with an environment that is comfortable and challenging at the same time. Nothing to Lose Fitness will offer its clients certified quality instructors and trainers.

My fitness journey started 25 years ago. After my first jazzercise class, I was hooked! The high that came with so many like minded people from all walks of life working hard, and having so much fun together was addicting. After 10 years of making it my mission to show up to classes week after week with my favorite instructors, I decided it was time for me to make people feel that same buzz so I became a group fitness instructor in 2007. After marrying my soulmate and completing my family, I was certified as a personal trainer through the Athletic and Fitness Association of America, then later through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. One thing I have learned over the years is that the road to health and wellness holds no competition, takes patience, and kindness to ones self. My mission now, is to help inspire my clients to be their best selves while following their own path of wellness and having fun doing it.
I am married to my high school flame, Bret. We live in on the Great Mississippi with our 3 children (Lucy, Pearl, & Gus) and 2 super lazy Basset Hounds (Darryl and Betsy). My appreciation for Group Fitness began in 2012. Though I was an athlete growing up, as an adult, much of my training was done on my own. I was plateauing and needed something different. After one Body Pump class I was hooked! The energy, accountability, and fast fitness results I saw were exactly what I was missing. I loved the idea of working out with a group of people of all different fitness levels and, somehow, we all got the work out that met our needs as an individual. Not to mention a full body workout in one hours’ time! Busy moms, you know what I’m talking about! In early 2020, I took the plunge to get certified in Body Pump because it was time for me to help others cultivate a love for exercise and reach their fitness goals. After putting my GF teaching on pause so I could teach my kids’ at home during the pandemic, I am so excited to get back into the gym and meet you where you are on your fitness journey!
Hello, my name is Tammy Low. I am excited to be on the “ Nothing to Lose” team. I started volunteering at a Nursing Home several years ago, and was asked to run an exercise class with the Active Aging…I fell in love with helping them laugh and to keep moving the best that they could. I continued pursuing getting certified in different fields to help as many people as I could. I am certified in TRX, Kettlebell, Group Fitness, Personal Training, Active Aging, and water aerobics! I would love to meet you and have you come try my classes!
I have been involved with group fitness for 10 years. My first certification was Les Mills Body Vive. I was so in love with teaching in a way that was accessible and welcoming I that I became certified in Zumba, Silver Sneakers ,Yoga and was invited to teach water aerobics, cardio kickboxing and low impact boot camp. My yoga certification and practice have enhanced not only my fitness, but my mental, spiritual and emotional health. It is my great joy to be able to share such a beneficial path to better health.
I continue to work in the field of nutrition as a dietitian for Genesis Health. I have also taught fitness, mainly for older adults, for over 15 years. I have taught for Eastern Iowa Community College, Genesis and Bettendorf Life Fitness Center. Physical activity is a crucial component in aging well and being involved in teaching it fits well with my nutrition profession.
